Workshop: Sourdough Made Simple

It’s hard to beat the aroma of freshly baked bread, especially when it’s the sweet tang of a warm and crusty loaf of sourdough!

This workshop is perfect for beginners or experienced bakers and will teach you the art of creating and caring for your own sourdough starter!

Participants will learn all they need to know about the ingredients and tools used in sourdough baking from Cathy Reese, an experienced homesteader and expert sourdough baker!

During the workshop, participants will sample homemade sourdough topped with a variety of jams and jellies and leave with their own dehydrated starter!

Cathy Reese has been a resident of the greater Stamford area since 2020 and began her own sourdough journey only four years ago. She says she hasn’t purchased a loaf of bread from a store since and is excited to share her knowledge and experience with those in attendance. In addition to baking, Cathy loves gardening, cooking, canning, crocheting, and anything craft-related!

The Sourdough Made Simple workshop is free and open to all.

Pre-registration is strongly suggested by calling the library at 607.652.5001 or stopping in today!
