Come experience clean energy up close with the PowerHouse, a mobile, off-grid, clean energy-powered tiny home from Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Smart Energy Choices!

The PowerHouse is filled with exhibits and information designed to help renters and homeowners understand energy efficiency, renewable energy, and practical ways to save energy and money. Throughout the day, explore the PowerHouse and learn about heat pumps, solar power, and state programs that can help lower your energy bills.

☀️ 11 a.m.–12 p.m. | Building a Solar Oven

A hands-on project for kids (includes S’mores!)

Kids will learn about the science behind solar energy and the greenhouse effect while working together to build their own solar ovens. Then they’ll put their creations to the test by making their own S’mores!

🏠 12–2 p.m. | PowerHouse Open House

Stop by anytime during the open house to explore this unique tiny home and discover practical ways to make your home more energy efficient. Learn about heat pumps, solar power, and state programs designed to help households save energy and lower their utility bills.

💡 2–3 p.m. | How to Lower Your Energy Bills

Join a practical workshop led by your local Community Energy Advisor. Learn about ways to make your home more energy efficient and resources that may help you save money on your energy bills.

The PowerHouse is run by Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Smart Energy Choices, which provides direct support to help households improve energy efficiency and lower energy costs.
