August news
August is here! Take some time to come in and enjoy the air conditioning, the programs, the computers and the wifi – and of course the books and movies! We’ve gotten some new periodicals in as well; make yourself a cup of coffee in our Keurig (only $1!) and relax on the sofa with the latest edition of Allure, Esquire, Wired, New York, or Men’s Fitness, or enjoy Consumer Reports, Mother Earth News, Town and Country, Hobby Farm, People, and more. Magazines can also be checked out for a week.
In addition to faxing, we also now will scan and email documents; first two pages free, 50 cents a page for additional pages.
We’ve added some great new finger puppets to the toy collection. The kids in the summer program loved them! See if yours do too!
We’ve unfortunately misplaced several of the sign-up sheets for those interested in beginning the Friends of the Library group. They’re bound to show up sooner or later…in the meantime, please email the library at st.ill@4cls.org, or leave contact information at the desk next time you’re in and we’ll keep you informed.
The next Alzheimer’s Awareness Community Education program will meet on August 18th from 3 to 5pm. This session is Understanding Dementia-Related Behaviors. Please email or call us at 607-652-5001 if you’d like to attend.
Just a reminder not to return DVDs in the drop box outside the library. If a book gets returned and dropped in there, the case can break and the discs can get damaged.
The display case now features a colorful group of decorated eggs by Frank Singer. Take a look next time you’re in!
A new audio circuit should arrive and be available for checkout by the 20th. Check out the new titles!
Join the gardening group for a lively discussion of the summer’s successes, and failures. It meets on the 16th at 7pm. If you like to get your hands dirty working on flowers and vegetables, or need some advice to get you started, this is the group for you!
