Ongoing Activities and Programs

What else happens at the library besides baby goats visiting occasionally? Here’s a partial list of the ongoing programs and clubs you’ll find at the library. It’s all FREE and open to all! Most are regularly scheduled events, but check the newsletter for any changes and special events.

Passes to Area Museums—available for 1-week checkout.

Writer’s Circlethe 2nd Monday of each month at 7 p.m. Join local writers in presenting new works in progress. In addition to independent works, optional monthly writing prompts are provided. Writers in all genres are welcome! Bring something to read or just come to listen.

Garden Discussion Groupthe 1st Monday of the month (except December) at 7 p.m.  Share garden methods, successes, & failures. Bring cuttings, samples, and favorite tools to show and share!

Adult Literature Groupthe 2nd Friday of the month at 10 a.m. Interested in discussing novels, poetry, or other literary works? Join other adults to talk about all kinds of literature. Feel free to bring your favorite authors and books.

Little Ones Storytime- Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. Join Ms. Lindsay for stories, songs, movement, bubble time, and more!

Hand Needlework GroupWednesdays, 7 to 9  p.m. We welcome all who knit, crochet, quilt, do needlework, crewel, embroidery, etc. of all levels, including those who would like to learn. We will offer help and encouragement while you work on your own projects.

Dungeons & Dragons Game NightsEvery other Thursday at 7 p.m. Gather to play Dungeons & Dragons every other Thursday at the Stamford Library! All gaming supplies are provided!

Homework Club –  the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month at 3:30 p.m. Students in grades K-12 receive one-on-one assistance and encouragement while gaining confidence and building the skills necessary for ongoing success! Plus, there are snacks, and it’s a lot of fun!

History/Genealogy Research AssistanceWednesdays from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Receive one-on-one assistance with historical and genealogical research from Historian and Archivist Karen Cuccinello.

Summer Reading Program—Held in partnership with Stamford Central School’s Camp H.E.R.E. during the month of July. In August, the entire community is invited to take part in special Summer Reading Program challenges, programs, and celebrations!
